Evan Kai

Last night I shot my first new born shoot in a very long time.  Little Evan Kai is only 12 days old and I was more then excited to get my hands and my camera on this little one.  I knew it was going to be a fun shoot because Even’s mommy and daddy just happen to ROCK!  I actually met them for the first time in 2006 when I did a beach photo shoot with them.  They were one of my first clients when I was just starting out.  So when Peggy called me and told me the fantastic news about Evan’s birth I was so honored to be the one to do his first photo session!  This new family of three are getting ready  to trade in their surf boards for snow shoes so we made sure to get some pictures at their favorite beach.  Apparently the beach has that same relaxing affect on Evan as it does on me as this was the only time he fell asleep during the whole session.  When we got back to the house for a few more shots he proceeded to poop, pee and spit up on all my props which gave all of us the giggles.  That’s what babies do!  Evan we just doing his job!  I am going to get some more time with Evan on Tuesday during the day, which is when he likes to take his long naps.  I can’t wait to do it again but in the mean time here are some of my faves from last nights session.

The Cole Ohana

I first met the Cole ohana at the Army Ball I shot a few months ago.  They booked a family photo shoot that night and a few weeks later we met up at Ko Olina for a sunset photo shoot.  The Cole’s had just successfully gotten another 15 month deployment under their  belt and were reunited as a family of four.  It brings tears to my eyes to think of all the sacrifices the military personnel  makes in order for  us to live free.  There are no words great enough to show my appreciation.  I felt honored to capture this moment in time for them. Their two little girls could not be any more precious.   The Cole’s are also getting ready to end their time on this beautiful island.  I must say that I am a little jealous as their next tour will be in Europe!  So I’d like to shout out a big ALOHA to the Cole ohana and wish them all the blessings on their next adventure.   Check out some of my favorite pics from their session.

My new favorite shoot location

One of my favorite places to shoot pictures lately has been the train station.  I have been trying to take all my kids there individually and get some updated shots.  I now have three down and one to go.  Here is some of my favorite shots from Addison and Corben’s shoot.

The Gallagher’s

I had a great time with the Gallagher’s last night on the beaches of Turtle Bay Resort.  I think Colleen should have won the daughter of the year award when she surprised her parents with a family portrait session during their Hawaiian vacation!  I think they broke the record for the most outfit changes in one shoot, however they had such cute color combinations how could a girl say no?  They even supported their favorite baseballs team and changed into their Chicago Cubs t-shirts.  This is when I really found out that the Gallagher’s were a nice laid back family.  They did not throw stones are spit on me when I asked them if the Chicago Cubs were a football or basketball team.  Maybe it was because I am pregnant and they thought that would be too mean but I think it is because they are just that cool!  Internet in case you were wondering the answer is baseball.  The Chicago Cubs are a baseball team.  I then put my foot further into my mouth when I said oh yeah now I remember like “Da’Cubs!”  but I was quickly corrected that “no that is Da’Bears!”  Turns out they are both from Chicago, and really they are both bears so I was close right? So Gallagher’s I hope you enjoy your sneak peek, and the rest of your vacation in Hawaii.  I am going to go Polish up on my sports teams!

Seriously Can She Get Any Cuter?

There are just a few more days before school lets out and my house will go from being peaceful during the day to being an absolute mad house.  No longer will my couch be a place to cuddle with Londyn and watch TV, but instead the couch will be masterfully transformed into a trampoline.  Dishes will be piled into the sink, and peanut butter will be stuck in places I won’t be able to find for weeks.  All my conversations will consist of me trying to convince my children that they have every toy under the sun and there is no possible way that they can be soooo bored.  So while the kids are counting down the days to summer vacation I am trying to enjoy these last few fleeting moments of sweet alone time with Londyn.  So yesterday we decided to get her dressed up, put some curls in her long blonde hair and head to the rail station for a photo shoot.  She packed up her snacks and a water bottle and was an absolute doll the whole time.  I am just not sure if she could be any cuter if she tried.  I want to grab a fork, eat her up, and wash her down with an ice cold watermelon lemonade.
